Toledo - Top 10 travel destinations in Spain

Toledo is one of Spain’s loveliest cities, which boasts of several historical and cultural attractions. One of the city’s must-see sites is the Casa y Museo de El Greco. El Greco was the most celebrated Spanish artists in the sixteenth century and he spent his whole life in this city. It is not clear if El Greco did reside in the house but it was turned into a museum for him nonetheless. Another great site to visit is the Monasterio de Santo Domingo El Antiguo. This is also connected with El Greco as the monastery displays his early works and some religious items. The monastery also dates back to the eleventh century. One more attractive place in Toledo is the Plaza de Zocodover, which is a popular meeting spot in Toledo. The plaza was previously the site of the cattle market back in the Muslim period, however, it now became a venue for fiestas and bullfights. The usual Tuesday market is also held here. Another magnificent place in this city is called the Alcázar - Museo del Ejército. The Alcázar currently accommodates a library as well as the Military Museum and is also a terrific location to get a scenic view of Toledo.
